Distance from Bogotá: 74Km

Tobia is located in Cundinamarca department, in the province of Gualivá. Its main activity is the panela making, because of the cane cultivations. There are also fruit trees as orange, tangerine, banana, yucca and peach-palm.

Tourism

Tobia has natural landscapes, is appropriated for adventure sports as rafting, rappelling, and extreme sports. Close to the downtown, there are hotels with modern installations and swimming pool services, restaurants, camping zones for people who loves nature, it provides cabins and hiking places too.

Rafting

Rafting is also called water canoeing, is a mixing of adrenalin, balance, love to nature and passion for challenges. It is carried out by a guide and each one has to wear lifejacket and helmet for safety. It is essential to learn how to keep your balance and follow the guide instructions. The rivers are classified according its flow and difficulty, from category I to VI which is only for experienced ones. Tobia is the perfect place for rafting because it has appropriated landscapes for this extreme activity.

Canopy

It covers 1200 and 200 meters above the sea level, has two security lines. The 1200 m line is the longest of South America, because its highest point reaches to 600 m.a.s.l. It has become the most extreme sport of Colombia.

Rappelling

This sport consists on descending down rocks using ropes; this requires cleverness and psychological training about the weights. Because of its topographical variety, Tobia has appropriated places for rappelling.

Among the main attractions are:

La Bomba

La Bomba is the perfect place for rappelling and rafting. It is a rock through which a waterfall descends. The climber do not only have to face up to the slope, but also the water force, at times, the climber will feel could not breathe because the water fall directly on his face. It is a real challenge to get to the top, even for the most experienced ones, not everybody get to the summit but it is worth of trying it.

It is indispensable the presence of a guide for practicing it.

Barandillas Gully

Tobia is really magic, has anchovy full of gullies, the Barandillas route (El Tigre), offers a route inside the tropical forest and beautiful wells on the rock with the passage of time.

The tunnels

The tunnels are on the former railway that went from Bogotá to Santa Marta, the tunnels and a spectacular waterfall named Bomba.

Toboganes de la Berberia

It is considered one of the best tourist attractions of Cundinamarca department, is appropriated for long walks and rappelling. Its wild fauna and flora, the colorful landscape, the weather, the clean atmosphere, the peaceful place, the mountains that surround it, makes this reserve one of the most visited places of Tobia by the national and international tourism.

It is located on the highway on the crag of Cundinamarca, 10 minutes from Tobia, at weekends is very visited by hundred of tourists.
