Chapinero, Bogota

Chapinero is located in the north oriental city area traditionally includes Chapinero and a part of Teusaquillo and Unidos neighborhood, it is the only locality in Bogota with a territory bigger than its perimeter (a kind of suburban area)

Chapinero is one of the most important localities of Bogotá and it is divided in three areas: Chapinero, El Lago and Chicó. All the areas are residential and it become in important commercial areas. It is considerate mostly an urban area.

Despite the history, Chapinero is along Santa Fe, La Candelaria and Teusaquillo, the most traditional localities of the city and along them are the traditional neighborhoods of Bogotá distinguished by characterized a determined epoch of the city.
Chapinero, once a high class neighborhood, was built with big houses with facades of exposed brick and a Victorian architectonic style that reflects a strong English influence of beginnings of XX Century.

It is ideal for young tourists searching for recreation, shopping and night life, used to the streets noise.

Chapinero neighborhood is one of the few neighborhoods declared of cultural interest in the city without any doubt a place to be visited and enjoyed.

Limits

- North: Street 100, with Usaquén locality.
- South: Avenue 39, with Santa Fe locality.
- West: North highway and Caracas Avenue with Barrios Unidos locality and Teusaquillo.
- East: Oriental mountains with La Calera (Cundinamarca) municipality.

- 93 Park, the favorite area for Bogotanos entertainment, around Street 82 many art galleries, stores of gifts and personal usage items are located.
- Central Carrera Séptima to Caracas Avenue from Street 45 to Street 63, are places visited by citizens and tourists due the wide offer of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, commercial centers, green areas, private clubs, etc..
- Street 55 from Caracas avenue till Carrera 13, is the “Mariachis street" in Bogotá, there you will find lots of mariachis groups.
- Del Chicó Museum
- Square-Park and Nuestra Señora de Lourdes Church, center of the locality
-  “La Calle del Sol”, Carrera 14 between 82 and 84 streets, group excellent and exclusive boutiques, designer and high couture houses.
- In the streets 79 B and 80 between Carrera Séptima and Novena Avenue is located the major part of antique stores.
