3 Days - 2 Nights in Villa de Leyva
On this tour you will visit one of Colombia’s prettiest colonial towns. Villa de Leyva’s cobbled square is the largest in the country (14.000 m2 ) and it is surrounded by antique colonial buildings.
On the way to Villa de Leyva, we will stop at Boyacá’s Bridge, where the battle that led to the formation of the Republic of Colombia was fought on August 7th 1819. Also, from the road you will be able to see the towns of Tocancipá, Gachancipá, Chocontá, Villapinzón and Ventaquemada.
Once we get to Villa de Leyva, you will have the chance to have lunch and relax in a luxurious hotel. In the afternoon we will visit Raquira, a nearby town, which is considered to be Colombia’s craftwork capital and one of its prettiest towns.
On the next day, we will visit the Saint Ecce Homo Convent, which has a mysterious charm and which is a cultural and architectonic relic. We will also visit the impressive fossil of a kronosaurus, a marine reptile which is one of the only two that have been found in the work. You will have the afternoon free when you can enjoy Villa de Leyva’s famous gastronomy and architecture.
On the third day we will return to Bogotá, and at the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel or at a convenient place within the urban area. Price includes: - Transfers to and from your hotel.
