Coveñas - Sucre

It is located in Sucre on the north side of Colombia. It is the newest country of Colombia, Sea Port in Gulf of Morrosquillo by its geographic location. Its exceptional marine beauty has been the reason to be considered tourist place since the Conquest and the Spanish colony.

In Coveñas the slaves of Santa Bárbara Ranch settled in 500, unexplored place. In 1600 and 1700 it was place for coconuts and livestock business of Don Julián Patrón Airiarte since the ends of XIX century.

In February 7, 2001, it was declared municipality, covers 14 Km of beach along the coastal zone where mangrove vegetation grows up. Several migratory birds, reptiles and plentiful fauna lives there.

Coveñas has one of the most beautiful and safe beaches of Colombia, the perfect place for people who love enjoying wonderful landscapes, fishing and tasting oyster and prawns. Its clam and warm waters are ideal for children, and it has places for skiing, windsurfing, kite surfing with experts.
The weather in Coveñas is warm-dry whose temperature average is 28ºC.

How to arrive to Coveñas

You can arrive to Coveñas by land, sea and train.
There are several transportation companies that arrive in Sincelejo, capital of Sucre. From there, you will take buses to Coveñas municipality. The trip lasts 10 hours from Medellín, 3 hours from Cartagena and 45 minutes from Sincelejo.

By plane, you will arrive to Los Garzones de Montería airports, or in Tolú airport in charter flights.

La Playa Corredor turístico

It has green clear waters, white sand beaches, has modern hotel infrastructure with beautiful landscapes. The architecture of summer villas, cabins, condominiums, hotels, resorts and camping zones offers to tourist different accommodation options.

Ciénaga de la Camairera(marsh)

It is formed by a dense mangrove that is connected through a vast channel (it is not very deep). Then it opens in a vast marsh. The ecological development has a “floating house” which can hold up 80 visitors.
