San José de Cúcuta city - Norte de Santander

Distance from Bogotá: 568 Km.

This is the capital of the district.  It used to be a pre-Columbian location; it was a significant place of birth of some historical characters: Francisco Montes, Pedro Fortul and Mercedes Abrego.

It is possible to arrive to Cúcuta by plane from Bogotá to The International Airport of Cúcuta.

Tourist places

El Malecón

El Malecón is situated 5 Km. from The Pamplinita River.  It is a very popular place among tourists.  There are many locations to practice different sports.  It has a nice road for bicycles and a path for running.  There are some restaurants that offer typical food and, also, there are places to get fun during nigth.

Parques (Parks)

Cúcuta contains interesting parks: The Simón Bolívar Park where it is posible to observe a big statue of this personnage; The Juana Rangel de Cuellar Park; The Antonia Santos Park; The Mercedes de Abrego Park.  Those are places for recreation.
