Parque Nacional El Tuparro (National Park)
It was declared a reservation of the biosphere by the UNESCO. There is a huge diversity of fauna, specially, birds, bambies and other local animals. The beautiful landscapes are really impresive. The most interesting places of the park are the rivers (Tuparro, Tuparrito, Caño Maipurés) and The Blue Lake.
Raudal de Maipurés
This is a spectacular natural wonder. Stones, streams and cascades form a beautiful natural show. It is 6 m. high. This is an ideal place for sailing and observing beautiful landscapes.
Puerto Carreño (Port)
Puerto Carreño is located close to The Orinoco River, in the frontier with Venezuela. It is possible to access to the region by plane or by boat. It is enclosed by beautiful landscapes where it is possible to practice fishing.
The wheater is hot and rainy. The vegetation is abundant.
The indiginous population works with mancraftship, textiles and typical food. These materials are very appreciated by tourists.
Centro Gaviotas
It is situated in the zone of Tres Matas. It is a technological developing center. It has a big Caribean pines plantation. The “colofonia”, a component for paints, is extracted there. The center has a runaway.
