San José del Guaviare

San José de Guaiviare is a population surrounded by natural bridges, rocky hills, rivers and lakes.  It is located in the north zone of the district, 400 Km. from Bogotá.  The Guaiviare River is the principal attraction.  The zone comprehends green landscapes plenty of rivers.

Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

It is a group of mountains placed in the north zone of Colombia.  It has more than 400.000 hectares and one of the most singular land formations of the planet.  It contains a variety of rainforests and mountains covered by snow.
The natural park presents beautiful landscapes such as jungles, woodlands and, specially, hills.  It is a perfect place for ecoturism.  Its fauna is composed by danta, squirrel,venado de páramos (bambi), birds like paujil, cóndor and gallineta de monte.

The park presents huge snow-capped mountains.  It also has beautiful landscapes which include forests, jungles, mountains and moors.  The different ecosystems are plenty of diverse flora and fauna like a hundred species of mammals, birds, reptiles and so on.  Some activities can be practiced, among them: climbing, walking, fishing, camping and thermal baths.

Santuario de Fauna y Flora Los Flamencos (Sanctuary of Flora and Fauna)

A very beautiful place, a tropical woodland covered by jungles and mountainious forests.  Flamingos live there.  The main attraction is its plumage and the spectacular nests.
Other interesting locations to visit are: The National Park of Macuira, El Cabo de la Vela, Manaure and Cities of Stone.

Parque Nacional Serranía de Chiribiquete (National Park)

It is located in the heart of the Colombian Amazonas.  The landscape is composed by flats and mountains.  The park is covered by a tropical and wet woodland, it counts with amazing rocks and it comprehends a great variety of flora and fauna.
La Serranía de Chiribiquete is the principal attraction.  It forms a group of  tubular hills and plateaus called Tepuyes.  They are 100 meters high.
