The principal activities of Guainía are fishing, minery and hunting.  The most important city is Barranco Minas.
Besides, tourism is a permanent activity.  There are a lot of favourite places like parks and natural reservations.

Puerto Inírida (Port)

This port is the capital city of the district.  It is a beautiful village that is built over a flat with some hills.  Its denomitation comes from the name of a flower: the inírida.  This is a commercial center.

Parque Nacional Puinawai (National Park)

This park is an ecological reservation.  It is a sabana covered with a rainforest plenty of rivers and nice prairies.  It contains a lot of animals and plants.
Some interesting places are: The Hills of  Manicure, The Lake of Brujas and The Inírida River.
