The district is placed in the Caribean prairie.  The region offers several tourist locations, natural, cutural and scientific.  It is possible to enjoy here the vallenato, a typical rythm of the city.

Tourist attractions

Among the principal tourist places of the region, it is possible to mention the following:

Valledupar

This is the capital city of the district.  It is located in Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta whose peaks can be observed from the city.
It is the world capital of Vallenato a musical gender that was born here.  The Festival of The Leyend of The Vallenato takes place.

Los Balnearios Naturales de Pozo Hurtado (Natural  Balnearies)

They are located in The Guatapurí River.  Beautiful natural locations ideal to comtemplate amazing relaxing landscapes.

La Mina en el Badillo (Mine)

Badillo is a famous village because of its mine.  It is situated to the northeast of Valledupar.  It was named National Monument.  It is an interesting place to explore.

La Ciénaga de Zapatosa (Marsh)

This marsh is conformed by The César River.  It is composed by many islands covered by flora and fauna.  This is a perfect place for fishing.  It is surrounded by panoramic views and balnearies.
