Capital: Yopal
Altitude: 355 meters over the sea level (Yopal)

This is one of the biggest cities of the country.  It is situated in the region of Orinoquía.  Music, dance, sing, leyends and miths are the population´s cultural manifestations.

The contrast between mountains and valleys offers particular landscapes; to the northwest, moors plenty of natural fountains of crystalline waters, imponent hills, valleys plenty of exotic flora and fauna and, specially, a variety of birds.

The historical attractions placed on colonial architecture are the most important cultural aspects.  The region works on agriculture and cattle breeding.

Principal cities

Yopal

Yopal, the capital city, is the cultural and economical center of the country.  Its beautiful valleys present amazing locations with a variety of fauna and fauna (different species of trees).

Aguazul

An interesting place to visit thanks to its enormous camp for oil exploitation.  It is known as the oil city.  The camp is surrounded by beautiful landscapes.  One of its main attractions is The Tinije Lake.

Laguna de Tinije

The lake is ideal for nautic sports.  It is enclosed by a diversity of flora and it has beautiful green locations.

San Miguel de Farallones

An ideal place for those who practice climbing.  It has amazing rocky structures that are the major attraction of the zone.
