The district is located in the northeast part of the country. It comprehends three main zones: the mountain, the rainforest and the sabana.
Its economical activity is based on agriculture, oil and cattle breeding.
Arauca is composed by seven villages: Arauca, Tame, Savarena, Cravo Norte, Puerto Rondón, Arauquita and Rondón.
Arauca
This is the capital city of the district. It is placed close to the Arauca River. There are many tourist places to visit: monuments, parks, lakes and different centers.
