The district comprehends limits with The Caribean Sea.  It is a mountainous region which is crossed by hills, its main attraction.  The principal activity is agriculture.

Medellín is the capital of the region, the second biggest city of the country.  It is considered the city of the eternal spring.

Santa Fé de Antioquia

A tourist place with an interesting colonial architecture and exuberant landscapes like The Cauca River.  It also has different museums: Juan del Coral, Francisco Cristóbal and The Religious Art Museum.

La Piedra de Peñol

An enormous rock that is located 70 Km. from Medellín.  It posseses internal stairs.  From its top it is possible to observe the collecting of Peñol, the biggest of Colombia.

Necoclí

It contains virgin beaches near to the Golf of Urabá.

El volcán de Lodo de Arboletes

This is one of the most recognised places because of its rich composition of salts, oil and sulphur and its esthetic and medicinal properties.  Many people arrive here for a cosmetic treatment.

Las Orquídeas National Park

Las Orquídeas contains natural landscapes which captivates tourists.
There is an enormous variety of plants and mammals in the park.  The most popular regions are Muyinga and La Playa Larga (The Long Beach).
