Yondó city - Antioquia
Yondó is a green and rich municipality in Magdalena Medio, in the richest corner of Antioquía department. It is called Yondó because the yondues indigenoushad influence on these lands that formed part of the colonization of the region and are remembered with proud by its inhabitants.
The Yondó constructions are the most different of any municipality, because it were built by Dutch people and belonged to The Shell. As time goes by, the local boards took the city and it was erected as municipality in 1979.
It covers an area of 1,880 square kilometers with a mountain territory of Magdalena Medio.
Its economy depends on the agriculture, the cattle farming and the petroleum extraction.
How to get
It is possible to get from Medellín through the highway from Berrío Port. The trip lasts seven hours. Once you are in Barrancabermeja, it is possible to take the bus towards Yondó.
