Bello is a municipality, located to the north of the Metropolitan Area of Medellín, is the second city of Antioquia department. The city is known as “Ciudad de los artistas”.
It has an average temperature of 23 ºC, and covers 142, 36 square meters.
It has more development possibilities, since it is the convergence point between north and south, east and west of Antioquía department and Colombia, by its land connections with the highways that connect the west and the Atlantic Ocean and Bogotá, the capital. It is ideal for developing projects with forward-looking approach.
The main economic activities are related with textiles, concentrated products, organized commerce, informal commerce, exploitation of sand and quarry, in the urban area; I the rural one, the agriculture and the cattle farming on smaller scale.
Tourist attractions
National Monument to Don Marco Fidel Suarez
It is the hut where the ex presidents and distinguished son of the city was born. It is an architectonic, cultural and historical attraction.
Cultural Center “Cerro del Angel”
It is an auditorium, open-air theater and workshops building.
Metropolitan Train Station
It has children plays, skating ring and outdoor sports complex, Bello and Niquía. This is the last terminal of the north zone of the Valley of Aburrá. From there, it is possible to go by bus towards Girardota, Barbosa and Copacabana.
Quitasol Hill
It is a panoramic viewpoint of the municipality; it is possible to have spectacular views from the summit.
Corrales Way
It is supposed that the Niquías natives walk through this way. During the colonial epoch, it was used for connecting the west with the north of Antioquia department.
La García Reservoir
It is located in San Felix village, is the reservoir of the aqueduct for Fabricato textile industry. It is a cultural, historical and recreational place. It is possible to visit this place before authorization.
Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church
It conserves relics of the city heritage, as its bronze doors and its vitraux.
Chapel of Hatoviejo
It is a historic, national monument, is a cultural, architectonic and religious place.
Parks
- Tulio Ospina Aquatic Park: It has semi-Olympic pools, classed in: children, of pulley, recreational, and toboggans. It also has children plays, coffee shop, restaurant, sickbay and central kiosk for 300 persons.
